Created by Act 2010-726, the Alabama Firefighters' Annuity and Benefit Fund serves eligible firefighters throughout the state. Participation is voluntary and is designed to complement other retirement and benefit programs available to firefighters and their families.

What the Fund Provides

Retirement Benefits
An annuity benefit for qualifying members who meet the fund's age, service, training, and contribution requirements.
Disability Benefits
Benefits for eligible members who become totally or permanently disabled under qualifying line-of-duty circumstances.
Death & Survivor Benefits
Death and survivor benefits for qualifying circumstances, subject to the fund's governing requirements and claims process.
